Cable - 2005 Selection Board Results Oct 17, 2005


1. This message is from Israel Hernandez, Assistant Secretary and Director General, announcing the results of the 2005 Department of Commerce Senior Board that met in Washington, D.C., September 19-26, 2005 (Boards 1 and 4) and September 26-30, 2005 (Boards 2 and 3).

 
2. Promotions to Class 01 and below, meritorious step increases and performance awards for this same group have been approved.
 
3. Recommendations for promotions into and within the senior foreign service require Senate confirmation and Presidential attestation, therefore, it usually take several months before final approval is announced.
 
4. In keeping with Departmental policy concerning executive level awards (given to senior foreign service officers), we will announce performance pay awards and pay-for-performance recognition once approved by the Secretary.
