By now many of you are aware of the sad loss of two of our USAID colleagues working in Khartoum, Sudan, John Granville, a Democracy and Governance Officer and Abdelrahman Abbas Rahama, a Sudanese Foreign Service National.
A small memorial and photographs of John and Abdelrahman are located in the USAID lobby by the memorial plaque wall at the 14 street entrance of the Ronald Reagan Building. For those of you in Washington, I encourage you to express your condolences in the journals placed there which will be sent to the families of our colleagues. We hope that an expression of support from you will provide at least some small comfort to those they left behind.
AFSA joins all our foreign service community in praise of these two individuals who were doing their part in improving the lives of the Sudanese people.
