Ambassador William J. Burns will describe the forces and trends shaping today's world and America's evolving role. Now President of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Amb. Burns retired from the U.S. Foreign Service in 2014 after 33 years. He is only the second serving career diplomat to become deputy secretary of state. He has been ambassador to Russia and Jordan. He has also served as under secretary for political affairs, assistant secretary of state for Near Eastern affairs and executive secretary of the State department and special assistant to Warren Christopher and Madeleine Albright. This event costs $25 and includes lunch.
