Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala was previously the minister of finance in Nigeria and coordinating minister for the economy (2011-2015). Pirogi to this, she was managing director of the World Bank (2007-2011) with oversight responsibility for the Word Bank's operational portfolio in Africa, South Asia and Europe and Central Asia. She also held the positions of finance minister and foreign affairs minister in Nigeria between 2003-206, the first woman to hold either of these positions. Her achievements as finance minister garnered international recognition for improving Nigeria's financial stability and fostering greater fiscal transparency to combat corruption. She is also the author of several books and articles and has previously worked for more than two decades at the World Bank in various key operational and policy roles. She is now a visiting fellow at the Center for Global Development, a senior advisor at Lazard, and a chair at Gavi. This event costs $5.
