Description:

Judith Viorst is an American writer, newspaper journalist, and psychoanalysis researcher. She is the author of ten collections of poems for adults which include It's hard to be Hip Over Thirty and Other Tragedies of Married Life and How did I get to be 40 and Other Atrocities and 23 books for children, among them Try It Again, Sam and Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day (which has sold over four million copies and been inducted into the Picture Book Hall of Fame). She lectures widely on a variety of topics, ranging from the subjects of loss and control to children's literature. Her talk, interspersed with some of her poetry, will deal with what we have learned over the decades about growing and changing, guilt and control, new definitions of happiness as we grow older, and our always imperfect relationships - with siblings, spouses, friends and our adult children. A selection of Mrs. Viorst's works will be available for purchase and signing. This event costs $25.
