Description:

Eight months after it went into effect in January, the Iran nuclear deal remains a hotly debated political issue. Iran and the major powers are adhering to the letter of the deal but there are charges on both sides that it is not being honored in spirit. Iran complains it remains largely cut off from the global financial system while its adversaries worry about the unabated pace of its missile development program, and Iran's troublesome role in regional states. Drawing on his work on the Iran nuclear issue when he was at the State Department and his research on the issue over the past ten years in the think tank world, Mr. Mark Fitzpatrick will assess the Iranian state of play. Mr. Fitzpatrick is Executive Director fot he Americas Office of the International Institute for Strategic Studies and head of the IISS Non-Proliferation and Nuclear Policy Program. Mr. Fitzpatrick joined IISS in 2005 after a 26-year career in the U.S. Department of State. This event costs $25.
