Assignments and Tours of Duty


With reference to the Foreign Service Personnel Manual, Subchapter 100-1, Assignments and Tour of Duty, a primary objective of the domestic assignments is the placement of Foreign Commercial Service employees in positions best suited to advance the Agency's mission, while attempting to make best use of employees' knowledge, skills and abilities. Management will make efforts to identify and make available domestic positions at officers' grade levels. Management will also make efforts to keep domestic positions on the bid list throughout the selection cycle.
