Building on the extremely positive response to AFSA’s recent message, “Working with Our Congressional Champions”, AFSA invites members to a brown bag session at AFSA headquarters, 2101 E St NW, to learn some new ways to defend the Foreign Service.

Kicking off the session with recent video footage of our Congressional champions describing the crucial role the Foreign Service plays in maintaining U.S. global leadership, AFSA President Ambassador Barbara Stephenson will lead a discussion of how AFSA members can make a compelling case for the Foreign Service with Congressional and public audiences. Participants will role play CODEL visits, using preparation materials created by AFSA, and after de-briefing the role plays participants will be offered information resources they can use on their own to sharpen their defenses of the Foreign Service.
