Start Date/Time:
Wednesday, September 25, 2019 - 12:00
End Date/Time:
Wednesday, September 25, 2019 - 13:15
Description:

Are you a hiring manager? Have you heard complaints from colleagues and subordinates who are bidding that “the system is rigged” and “it’s all about who you know?”

Would you like to help change that perception?

We know that many Foreign Service members put many hours and much hard, careful work into choosing the right candidates for the right jobs. Would you like to punch up those skills even more?

On September 25 from 12:00-1:15pm, you are invited to AFSA HQ at 2101 E St NW to have pizza and frank discussion on hiring practices with Sue Saarnio, Consul General in Tijuana; Suzanne Lawrence, Director for Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands; and Robert (Rob) Jackson, former Ambassador to Ghana and Cameroon and former Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Africa Bureau. All three speakers have decades of experience in using Foreign Service talent to its fullest. They will discuss “The Right Fit: Tips and Words of Wisdom on Hiring the Right People for the Right Jobs.”
