Regional Medical O cer Ed Miron
joined the State Department For-
eign Service in 2006 after 23 years
of private practice as a family
doctor in a small town. He spent
two years in Riyadh, and was then
posted to Dakar, where he took
this photograph. In October, he
completed an assignment as chief
of foreign programs in the O ce of
Medical Services in Washington,
D.C., and is now at FSI for the
eight-week Portuguese FAST course
in preparation for his next assign-
ment, São Paulo, in January.
