“Fallen U.S. Diplomats in Libya”
Financial Aid Scholarship
An anonymous donor has made a substantial contri-
bution towards establishing a scholarship in memory
of Ambassador Christopher Stevens, Sean Smith,
Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty, who were killed in a
terrorist attack in Benghazi last Sept. 11. 
A need-based scholarship for college undergradu-
ate study will be awarded in the 2013-2014 school
year to a child of a Foreign Service employee who is
an AFSA member.
To donate, please make your check payable to the
AFSA Scholarship Fund, and indicate it is for the “U.S.
Diplomats Scholarship” in the memo feld. Please

As part of AFSA’s eforts to keep members of Congress and staf up to date
on our issues, (left to right) AFSA Advocacy Director Javier Cuebas, along
with AFSA FCS VP Keith Curtis and AFSA Associate Retiree Coordinator
Matt Sumrak, visited with (center) U.S. Senators Mark Warner (D-Va.) and
Tim Kaine (D-Va.) as part of the Virginia Commonwealth Cofee series at
the U.S. Capitol on Feb. 27.
