AFSA Department of State Vice President
Steve Kashkett

Steve Kashkett

Welcome!  We in the State Department's active-duty membership, the largest constituency in AFSA, are a dynamic group of Foreign Service professionals serving under challenging conditions in every corner of the globe. My 20-year career as an FSO has spanned five overseas postings, including two war zones, on three continents, as well as Washington assignments in several different bureaus. As the AFSA Vice President for State, I am here to represent the concerns of the active-duty Foreign Service and to fight for the things that matter to us, such as overseas locality pay, fairness in assignments and promotions, quality-of-life issues, and a meaningful role in the foreign policymaking process for our career diplomats.

AFSA, as the public voice of the Foreign Service and as our official labor-management representative, can make a difference! Please help me serve you better by sharing your concerns and ideas with me. I can be reached by e-mail at KashkettSB@state.gov or by phone at 202-647-8160.
