Longtime AP State Department reporter George Gedda reflects on his 40-year career through a series of stories and vignettes spanning an amazing period of U.S. diplomacy. Gedda traveled abroad with successive Secretaries of State, getting to know the Department and the Foreign Service better than most correspondents.
