Description:

Energy is intertwined with every major current foreign policy and national security issue: nuclear negotiations with Iran, revenue pressures on every major oil producer, developments between Russia and Ukraine and how they affect Europe, global sustainability and the geopolitics of climate negotiations, and energy poverty and the political divides between the haves and have-nots. The ongoing fall in oil prices is in the news every day.  Please join us for this very timely session with an outstanding American public servant. The discussion will provide valuable insights on how to understand the new geopolitics of energy and what is at stake for all of us. Ambassador Pascual served as Ambassador in Mexico and Ukraine, and as Special Envoy and Coordinator for International Energy Affairs at the State Department's Energy Resources Bureau from 2011 to 2014.
