DACOR: Keeping Faith with the Social Contract: The Rights and Duties of Citizens

Start Date/Time:
Tuesday, March 20, 2018 - 16:30
End Date/Time:
Tuesday, March 20, 2018 - 19:00
Description:

As the "first new nation" - to crib Seymour Martin Lipset's description of the U.S. - Americans launched themselves on a course of democratic self-governance with a compact among themselves and with those who would come to represent them. Citizens would entrust their rights, interests, and the common good to elected leaders who serve at their pleasure, delivering a common life of liberty, security and well-being. This two part salon series will focus on three key issues that arise today regarding our success as a people under this democratic pact. This event costs $35 and includes dinner.
