Welcome to AFSA's Webpage for Foreign Affairs retirees
 
 

AFSA is pleased to offer our retiree members online access to the 2008 Consumer Checkbook Guide to the Federal Benefits Open Season, which will contain information about health, dental and vision plans.


The Guide contains information about 2008 premiums and benefits, as well as information on comparative plan quality and service to help retirees choose the best plans for their needs and pocketbooks.

To gain access to the Guide, click on the icon below.



You will be asked to log in. Please provide your user ID, which is your AFSA membership number, and your user password, which is your last name. Then click on log in and you will be taken to the Consumer Checkbook site.

AFSA is working to protect the future for its retiree and active-duty members and their survivors. This involves:



  • Keeping members well informed about complicated federal benefit issues through our Newsletter, AFSANet updates, the Foreign Service Journal and our Web page
  • Providing assistance and counseling to members
  • Assisting and intervening on behalf of members seeking department assistance
  • Monitoring legislation that affects federal retirement and health benefits
  • Working with similar organizations to protect and improve those benefits
  • Increasing our retiree membership in order to become a more powerful voice for protecting federal benefits

If you recently retired and did not fill out a form to change from active-duty to retiree membership, you can download the necessary forms by clicking Member Area on the banner at the top of this page and then clicking on Retiree under Membership Programs, Please mail the completed membership and automatic annuity deduction forms to AFSA at 2101 E Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20037, or fax them to (202) 338-6820.
