This evening includes light food and a cash bar from 5:30, a screening of America's Diplomats starting at 6:30, and a Q&A session with recently returned Ambassadors at 7:30. Narrated by Kathleen Turner, America's Diplomats examines the origins of the Foreign Service, weaving the colorful narratives of these unsung heroes into the fabric of the larger American story. The film explores the role of diplomacy and the challenging job of America's diplomats, from preventing war to promoting economic interests and confronting global challenges. America's Diplomats highlights the sacrifices made by those working behind the scenes to change the world. The Q&A session will feature Ambassadors Jay Anania, Adrienne O'Neal and Marcie Ries. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask these Foreign Service Officers who ended their time as Ambassadors in Suriname, Cape Verde and Bulgaria, respectively, in 2015 about their career paths, memorable experiences, and what it's like to be a diplomat today. Biographies of each speaker can be found here. This event costs $5.
