Mr. Matthew Armstrong is an author, lecturer, and strategist on public diplomacy and international media. He was confirmed as a member of the Broadcasting Board of Governors in 2013. He currently chairs the Special Committee on the Voice of America in the 21st Century and is a member of the Board's Advisory Committee. He serves on several organizational boards, including the Public Diplomacy Council and Lodestone Trust, and editorial boards for several journals covering strategic communication and national security. Since 2009, he has been a member of the National Press Club. Mr. Armstrong's previous public diplomacy roles include working at the U.S. Advisory Commission on Public Diplomacy, the Annenberg School of Journalism and Communication at the University of Southern California, and the MountainRunner Institute at Georgetown University.
