Professor Ibrahim M. Oweiss, born in Egypt, is an American educator and an international economic advisor. While on leave from academia, he was appointed First Under-Secretary for Economic Affairs in the Egyptian Cabinet. He also served as the Chief of the Egyptian Economic Mission to the U. S. with rank of Ambassador. His book, A Tale of Two Cultures was published 2011 with a preface written by his former student President Bill Clinton. Among other decorations, he holds Egypt's Order of Merit, First Class. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth sanctioned his admission to the order of St. John.In his presentation, Professor Oweiss intends to demonstrate that Arab thinkers planted the seeds of classical economics centuries before Adam Smith.
